Vietnam Education Foundation Faculty Scholar Grant

The Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF) is pleased to announce the 2009 U.S. Faculty Scholar Grant Program for Americans to teach in fields that VEF supports at Vietnamese universities during the Academic Year 2009-2010, either on-site or via videoconferencing. Peace Corps

Peace Corps volunteers serve in over 70 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East. By providing practical assistance to countries that request it, the Peace Corps shares America's most precious resource: its people.

Who May Volunteer?
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and US citizens.
- There is no upper age limit for Volunteers. Volunteers have a variety of skills, work experiences, and education level.
- The length of training and service is 27 months
- Volunteers spend the first three months of service in language, cross-cultural, and technical skill training.

We are looking for applicants who are willing to help people they've never met, in a language they don't know, in a country they may not even knew existed - for 27 months.

During Service:
- International Work Experience
- Deferment and partial cancellation of some student loans
- Foreign language fluency and technical training
- Full medical and dental coverage
- Housing / Monthly living allowance (no out-of-pocket expenses)

- $6,075 upon completion of service
- 1 year non-competitive eligibility for government jobs
